Sony Footage Classics has acquired worldwide rights to John Turturro crime thriller “The Solely Residing Pickpocket in New York,” the studio introduced on Tuesday.
From MRC and T-Road, the movie had its world premiere on the 2026 Sundance Movie Pageant and is Sony Footage Classics’ third acquisition out of the pageant. The movie is eyeing a theatrical launch this fall.
Written and directed by Noah Segan, the movie stars John Turturro (“Severance,” “The Batman”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Captain America: Courageous New World,” “Breaking Unhealthy”), Will Value (“After the Hunt,” “A Full Unknown”), Tatiana Maslany (“The Monkey,” “Orphan Black”), Victoria Moroles (“Ballard,” “By no means Have I Ever”) and Steve Buscemi (“Wednesday,” “The Loss of life of Stalin”).
