Sebi eases certification requirement for gross sales, non-core workers related to Analysis Companies


New Delhi, Mar 11 (PTI) In a transfer aimed toward easing compliance necessities, markets regulator Sebi on Wednesday relaxed certification norms for Individuals Related to Analysis Companies (PARS), permitting gross sales workers, relationship managers and different non-research personnel to qualify by a lighter certification module.

“Primarily based on the suggestions from market individuals and as a step in the direction of ease of doing enterprise, it has been determined to specify a lighter NISM certification module for PARS, akin to gross sales workers, relationship managers and different workers, who carry out gross sales and different non-core providers, have consumer contact however aren’t straight related or concerned in analysis associated facets,” Sebi mentioned in its round.

Accordingly, PARS, who carry out gross sales and different non-core providers, shall be required to acquire certification from NISM by passing the ‘NISM Sequence-XXV-A’.

“The PARS who’ve already obtained NISM SeriesXV certification, as on the date of this round, shall not be required to undertake NISM Sequence-XXV-A certification at this stage. Such PARS shall acquire NISM Sequence-XXV-A certification solely after expiry of the validity of their NISM Sequence-XV certification,” Sebi mentioned.

PARS, excluding those that carry out gross sales and different non-core providers, will proceed to acquire certification from NISM by passing the ‘NISM Sequence-XV: Analysis Analyst Certification Examination’.
