Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is the latest star within the galaxy of Star Trek reveals, and it has attracted its share of controversy. Coming in for a shocking quantity of criticism is the choice of Holly Hunterwho performs Chancellor Nahla Ake, to take a seat in her captain’s chair in an unconventional and decidedly casual trend. Nonetheless, Hunter’s castmates and fellow Star Trek alums have been fast to spring to her protection. Final week, fellow Starfleet captain Kate Mulgrew led the cost; now, it is the flip of her on-screen arch-foe, Paul Giamatti.
Giamatti, who performs house pirate Nus Braka on the collection, not too long ago guested on The D-Con Chambera podcast hosted by Trek veterans Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer. Lately, an encounter with the hostile Furies led Ake to hunt Braka’s help…solely to be double-crossed by the canny pirate.
Keating and Trinneer starred on Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-2005) as, respectively, Malcolm Reed and Charles “Journey” Tucker; they launched the podcast in 2024 after concluding their earlier podcast, The Shuttlepod Present.
