Here’s a recollection of the IELTS Speaking questions shared by one of our students who recently took the IELTS test in Italy.
Speaking test
Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you work or are you a student?
– Why did you choose that particular job or field of study?
– What is your favourite colour?
– Why do you like that colour?
– Has it always been your favourite or did it change over time?
– Do you think colours can reflect a person’s personality?
– Do people in your country associate colours with certain meanings?
– Do you think colours can influence mood or behaviour?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a situation in which you had to tell a friend the truth. You should say:
– what the situation was
– how your friend reacted
– why you had to tell them the truth
and explain how you felt about it.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Is it better to be honest even if the truth might hurt someone?
– Are there situations where being honest can cause more harm than good?
– Do you think children naturally tell the truth, or do they learn it over time?
– Can society influence children to be less honest as they grow up?
– In what ways is honesty connected to dignity or self-respect?
– Do you think honesty is always appreciated in the workplace?
