George Russell has clinched the primary F1 win of the 2026 season!
The 28-year-old Mercedes-AMG Petronas Method One Workforce driver transformed his pole place to a win on Sunday (March 8) within the 2026 Method 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Australia.
Finishing the rostrum was George‘s teammate Kimi Antonelli in second for a double podium to kick off the season, in addition to Scuderia Ferrari HP’s Charles Leclerc, who simply acquired marriedin third.
This 12 months kicks off a brand new regulation period in Method 1, together with an eleventh group on the grid for the primary time in years.
Sadly, 5 drivers didn’t begin or end the Australian Grand Prix. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg didn’t make it to the beginning line, whereas Aston Martin’s Fernando AlonsoCadillac’s Valtteri Bottas and Pink Bull Racing’s Isack Hadjar didn’t end.
