Synopsis: Celebrated actor Steve Coogan (taking part in a model of himself) and his buddy comic Rob Brydon (equally taking part in himself) make a journey by means of Greece, notionally tracing the travels of Odysseus. They alternate banter over restaurant meals and within the automobile, they usually go to some historic websites.
What Works Effectively: A couple of of the jokes, improvisations, and impersonations elevate a chuckle.
What Does Not Work As Effectively: This fourth instalment in The Journey film sequence is a tiresome, self-indulgent, and sometimes unbearable excuse for 2 grownup males to converse like juveniles: performs on phrases (” ‘Arry Stotle”), countless impersonations (together with Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, and King Henry VIII), dangerous singing (the track Greaseas a result of we’re in Greece) and needling (Steve rubbing his BAFTA awards in Rob’s face at each alternative). The intrusion of a tragic plot twist within the last quarter-hour drops from nowhere and achieves little resonance.
