Cesar Awards Winners 2026: Full Listing

It’s awards season on daily basis, in all places, as France’s equal to the Oscars, the Césars, unveiled its personal ceremony of winners on Thursday night in Paris. The 51st annual presentation honored the very best French movies of 2025, with some shout-outs and prizes reserved for far-flung work, like Greatest Overseas Movie winner (what-else-but) Paul Thomas Anderson for “One Battle After One other.”

The present’s prime prize went to “L’attachement” (or “The Ties That Bind Us”), Carine Tardieu’s French-Belgian drama that premiered on the 2024 Venice Movie Pageant. “Nouvelle Obscure” led the evening’s nominations with 10 nods, profitable 4. The present was presided over by French actress Camille Cottin (most beloved stateside for her work on “Name My Agent!”), and co-hosted by French actor Benjamin Lavernhe. See the total record of winners beneath.

Various Oscar nominees have been current and represented among the many profitable and nominated titles, from “The Secret Agent” and “Sentimental Worth” to “Sirāt” — all Greatest Worldwide Characteristic Academy Award nominees. Ugo Bienvenu’s Oscar-nominated, Hayao Miyazaki-esque, and hand-sketched dystopian fantasy “Arco” gained the Greatest Animated Movie César. All these movies are Neon releases in North America.

Richard Linklater’s “Nouvelle Obscure” received its most beneficiant awards season swell, because the American filmmaker’s playful, black-and-white ode to Jean-Luc Godard and the making of “Breathless” naturally clicked with the French voters. Linklater gained Greatest Director amongst different prizes for the movie.

One French-language crossover we’re seeing an increasing number of of stateside as of late: Théodore Pellerin, who gained Greatest Male Revelation (because the award interprets) for his efficiency within the 2025 Cannes Critics’ Week drama “Nino” as a younger man with a foul case of most cancers. He’s not likely a newcomer, although. The Québécois actor just lately starred in Movie Unbiased Spirit Award winner “Lurker” because the parasocially poisonous fan of a Los Angeles pop star, which was broadly seen in American arthouses in 2025 (and on prime 10 lists). However Pellerin is hardly a newcomer — the famously tall, lithe actor had quite a lot of main roles, together with on the Showtime unique sequence “On Turning into a God in Central Florida,” and throughout French-Canadian movies.

The Académie des Arts et Strategies du Cinéma, which selects the César nominees and votes for the winners, boasts greater than 4,000 members.
